AUSTIN NALEN

Senior Associate, Oxeon Partners

Austin joined the Oxeon team in order to partner with companies working to make people healthier. She is inspired by Oxeon’s dedication to innovative and disruptive healthcare partners who are not afraid to take a bottom-up approach and work with the most vulnerable populations. Since joining Oxeon, Austin has worked with services, technology, and life sciences companies including Crossover Health, Clover Health, and Spectranetics. In addition to her Search work at Oxeon, Austin leads the New York philanthropy group, designed Oxeon’s corporate social responsibility program and led the company’s first two biannual trips to Guatemala, and works closely with Deerfield Management on the Break into the Boardroom initiative, a program we developed to promote greater representation of female healthcare executives on Boards.

Prior to joining Oxeon, Austin worked for Gardens for Health International in Rwanda, partnering with government health clinics to use education and agriculture to combat childhood malnutrition. Previously, Austin conducted research in health clinics in rural Tanzania. This exposure to foreign health systems in both Tanzania and Rwanda encouraged her to learn more about health systems at home in the US. Passionate about health, Austin is excited to be working closely with healthcare companies that are having a tangible effect on people’s lives.

Austin is originally from Sun Valley, Idaho. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Middlebury College with a Bachelor of Arts in International and Global Studies with a focus on Africa and Anthropology, and minors in French and Global Health. Austin spends her free time trying to locate any mountains relatively close to Manhattan, running along the East River in an attempt to win Oxeon’s Fitbit competition, and putting new things in her Vitamix.
