Elise is passionate about building companies that improve people’s lives, whether this is through advancing health outcomes, helping underserved communities gain employment, or decreasing barriers to education. This passion began during college, when she was selected as one of the original StartingBloc fellows, and grew when she co-founded a social good startup. Therefore, to strengthen the financing of healthcare companies, she has worked with Altamont Capital to bring in a MedTech Operating Partner and General Atlantic to add to its life sciences team. To improve the patient journey, she has worked on projects that span building out the women’s health company, Counsyl; the venture studio’s Docent Health; and Intermountain’s Chief Consumer Officer.
Growing up in South Bend, Indiana, Elise is obviously a die-hard Notre Dame football fan. She journeyed to New York to attend Barnard College, Columbia University, where she majored in American Studies, was a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow, and graduated Magna Cum Laude. When not at Oxeon, Elise is a Company Member with the renowned dance company, Jennifer Muller/The Works. She has performed in such venues as the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, Kaatsbaan International Dance Center, and Jacob’s Pillow Inside/Out. She spends every spare minute munching on the best baked goods in New York City, worrying about the amount of plastic not being recycled, and doing yoga.
