Iora Health is building a new model of primary health care delivery from the ground up to ensure radically improved customer service, better health outcomes and dramatically lower overall health care costs. Iora’s mission is to provide the best possible service and care for each patient- without any of the barriers or excuses that plague the current system. They’ve completely redesigned Primary Care to help patients better manage their health and navigate the health care system. Every patient gets a top-notch personal physician as well as a personal health coach who stays in close contact during and between office visits, both of whom are available by email, text, or video in addition to in-person visits. In addition, they provide great educational offerings, including group visits, to help patients stay on track with their health goals. Iora Health is funded by Flare Capital Partners, Rice Management Company, GE Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Fidelity Biosciences, Polaris Partners, .406 Ventures and Tony Hsieh, among others.
When the opportunity arose to partner with Iora Health, in both a search and investment capacity, we were excited to be working with a company that had not only been successful from a business perspective, but that remained incredibly mission-driven. Over the course of our relationship, we’ve invested in Iora’s Series B fundraising round and completed searches for a Chief Financial Officer, Chief Medical Officer, and Vice President of Accountable Care. The Hot Spotters, a New Yorker article featuring Rushika Fernandopulle and the Iora model is required reading for all new Oxeon hires (if you haven’t read it before, check it out here: http://bit.ly/1nPa3Yj).
